I’m a proud New Jerseyan living in Arlington, VA. I graduated from American University with cum laude Latin honors and as Phi Beta Kappa in May 2019. While in school, I studied International Relations, concentrating in the Middle East; Justice, Ethics, and Humans Rights; Peace, Global Security, and Conflict Resolution; and Identity, Race, Gender, and Culture. I also graduated in three years as part of American University’s Global Scholars Program. It has been a lot of work, but I would not trade all the time and commitment for anything.
I would say that all this work was not arduous, though, as learning about and understanding the world has been an integral part of me for almost all my life. I’ve traveled to over twenty-one countries across five continents over the past twenty years, and the passion for comprehending everything I experienced bore a lifelong commitment to worldliness in me (you can see some pictures of my experiences below). In that way, learning about the world is not just a pastime of mine; it is a career path. To gain even more firsthand knowledge of the Levant, I spent my penultimate semester in college studying abroad at Tel Aviv University. Currently, I am a legal research assistant and conduct business with courts domestically and internationally.
I’m working towards a career in civil and human rights. One day, I would love to be involved in multiple aspects of the human rights world, as I believe in the intersectionality of all issues. I believe that we will not be able to fully address the most poignant human rights abuses until we also address their root causes. We readily accept the interconnectedness of our world en masse; now we must look at this connectivity through the lens of human and civil rights. I want to be on the frontlines of that.
